D1 Random Ocean Encounters

1. A storm forces the ship to stop for the night. A group of gnolls sneak onto the ship during the night and attack the players while they're sleeping.
   
   
2. The players are invited to a party on a massive floating barge owned by a wealthy noble. However, the noble is secretly a vampire who plans to turn the players into his undead minions.
   
   
3. While exploring a coral reef, the party comes across a sunken ship filled with treasure. However, the ship is also home to a group of merrow who will do anything to protect their newfound riches. The party must fight their way through the merrow and claim the treasure for themselves.
   
   
4. The ship will come across a small raft with a half-orc and a dwarf on it. Their ship sank and they were left for dead, but they made it to the raft safely. The orc is named Grommash and he is a barbarian. The dwarf is named Delnar and he is a cleric of Torag. They are very eager to join the ship because they think they will be safe with you.
   
   
5. A ship approaches the ship. It's a ship of war from a faraway land, flying the flag of that land and looking like a sinister place indeed.
   
   
6. A kraken has awoken and is attacking nearby ships. The party must choose to either try to defeat the kraken and earn the gratitude of the ships' crews or sneak past it and continue their journey.
   
   
7. A storm comes out of nowhere! It's a real doozy! The captain of the ship isn't sure if they can survive it!
   
   
8. The ship will run into a storm that lasts 6 days and nights, with lightning striking all around and waves crashing over the deck. During this time one of the players will be possessed by an evil spirit and act as an antagonist for this time period (or until they are defeated by other players).
   
   
9. You see a group of mermaids sitting on a rock, combing their hair and singing. They are actually sirens, luring sailors to their deaths. Make a saving throw to resist their enchanting song.
   
   
10. The party encounters a giant, floating city that is home to an ancient civilization thought to be extinct. The city is willing to share its advanced technology with the party, but at what cost?
